Bernie Ecclestone has compared Lewis Hamilton to seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher – but doubts he will lift the title in his debut season.
F1 supremo Ecclestone said: “He’s a nice guy, a really good guy and super for the sport.”
“He is doing a great job, and doesn’t seem to be putting a foot wrong.
“He’s got a lot of talent and will be a winner. If you look at him and put Michael Schumacher’s helmet on him, you would think it was Michael.”

I followed michael schumacher all of his career, when he retired I thought I would lose interest in F1, well this young man is the best thing to happen to F1 for years. I hope he can carry on with good reliability, as he has certainly got the skill, fantastic lewis . chris cornwall

Chris you are spot on!!! Being an avid Schumie / Ferrari fan for years, Michael’s retirement seemed like the end of F1!!! But man oh man, has young Lewis injected a wonderful new era to this sport!! Pity his team mate does not have half the integrity and team spirit that Massa and Schumi so obviously shared!! Lewis make us proud, and stay the BETTER MAN! The whole world is routing for you!!
I was a M Schumacher fan. But when I saw you racing this year I definetly said that you are going to be the man to beat in future. I wish you all the best for this season. I am sure you will do all the best as you did in this season. Keep calm and go for the title. If you will loose it dont do not blame your team as the other drivers did! Hope that we see you as world champion and this would be the best gift to the McLaren team and supporters.

Bernie had made very big mistake whit this opinion. Comparing him to Michael is crime!
I’ve never thought, that someone can be proud as him of winning with so much help of FIA judges! Without them he won’t be able to have this points in drivers classification. I think, that he is no competition for the rest of F1 drivers without this help. He’s kind of baby boy who needs help of his father to earn something more than he can do himself.
I hope, that he’ll read this post, because I hate him, especially his behavior on the track and after the race!

Hamilton is a great pilot (he also has my name, he he), but i think everybody has overvalued his abbilities.
He is doing great for being a rookie and probably will be the first rookie to win the f1 champ, but it is also true that a rookie has never had the oportunity to drive the best car of the season.
Nothing of this would have happened if Lewis would be driving a Spyker.
Fernando Alonso started in the team with the worst car. If he’ d had the chance to star on his first year on a Ferrari or a Mc Laren it would have been him who had the record.
Bernie is right hamilton is like shumi,he won the titles by helps from the fia and ilegal tecnitcs on the track,What happend with michelin,is the same if you not with the fia you are against them,What happend in fuji when he was being the safety car,in shangai he MUST leave the car once he have been told by the marshals,he was waiting for dady with the broken down service,what about hungary gp,legal?fair?He is good but next year without alonso the car wont be as good as is now and he wont be able to copy the car settings,them we will see how good he is

I believe that the current top F1 drivers are Hamilton, ALonso, Raikkonen and Rosberg.
However, McLaren drivers should be disqualified from 2007 Championship, just like their car was.

He really seems to be doing a great job… I’m not sure he’s as good as Schumi, but he has a lot of talent, that’s for sure. I guess we all hope that smb like Michael will bring those beautiful days of last-second pole-positions, spectacular over-takings and breathtaking numbers of magic on the tracks back. Lewis might just be the one…
